As a spring 2024 initiate in Xavier’s Exponential Honors Program, Xavier University of Louisiana sophomore Ja’lyn Jones is now preparing to experience one of the program’s many life-changing benefits- a chance to study abroad. On June 15th, Jones leaves to study abroad in the United Kingdom (U.K.) at the University of Bristol as a 2024 Summer Fulbright participant. This incredible opportunity allows Jones to learn at one of the most prestigious and selective summer scholarship programs operating worldwide.

Xavier University of Louisiana’s Center for the Advancement of Teaching and 教师 Development (CAT+FD) is one of the winners of the D2L 2024 Excellence Award. D2L is a global technology learning company, and the award is given annually to organizations and programs that have demonstrated excellence in using D2L’s Brightspace, utilizing the platform to enhance and elevate the learning experience at their institutions.

In April 2024, Unitra Long, MA, LPC-S, NCC and Grace Mamou, M.S. LPC-S, BCCC both reached a pivotal milestone in their professional careers by earning their board-approved supervisor credentials (LPC-S). Their remarkable achievement highlights their dedication and expertise in counseling and sets a powerful precedent for future Black clinicians and therapists. At Xavier University of Louisiana, the nation’s only historically Black and Catholic university, Long and Mamou serve as inspiration for students who also strive to diversify the field and empower future generations of Black professionals in the mental health field.
